I finished reading Endurance this weekend; what phenomenal story. In 1915/16, Ernest Shackelton and 27 men set out on the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition, to become the first to traverse the continent of Antartica. They never even reach Antartica’s coast. Over the next 17 months, their story of survival is inspiring. The odds Shackelton and his crew overcame are astounding. But, more than just conquering the odds of the weathers and elements, they tackled this feat with archaic gear, transportation, communication and navigation.
There are so many leadership principles that could be pulled from this story, however, it goes so far beyond just leadership dos and don’ts. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. And when you finish it, let me know what you think.
