While on St. Simon's Island, we visited Fort Frederica National Monument. The setting was gorgeous, with gigantic live oaks covered in Spanish moss, brilliant green St. Augustine grass, and ruins dating back to 18th century.
Our church, Stonecreek Church, has a small pond. We ventured out to see what we might be able to catch.
When I was a kid, I remember visiting Shiloh National Battlefield. I navigated from monument to monument while earning my Boy Scouts orienteering merit badge. We looked for lead bullets in the creek beds.
